Assynt is an award-winning folk trio featuring Graham Mackenzie (fiddle), David Shedden (pipes/whistles), and Pablo Lafuente (guitar). Former BBC Radio Scotland Young Musician of the Year finalists and BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner, the band debuted in 2018 with their album The Road to the North, earning Up and Coming Artist of the Year at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards.

Influenced by the rich musical traditions of the Scottish Highlands, the group have come to be recognised for their tight-knit fiddle and pipe playing blended with intricate guitar lines and grooves. Their second album, Where From Here, was praised as “breathtakingly wonderful” by FolkWorld.

With airplay on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio Scotland, Assynt has performed at major festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival, Celtic Connections and Celtic Colours, and toured across Australia, China, Germany, and the UK.
